NAFFCO Pakistan presents the Shield Sprinkler SD1050 and SD1055, an innovative fire safety solution designed for concealed applications. These glass bulb-type sprinklers have a frangible design that guarantees quick and reliable activation in case of fire. They are available in two configurations: the SD1050, featuring a 5mm bulb for standard response, and the SD1055, equipped with a 3mm bulb for quick response. With a K Factor of 5.6 gpm/psi½ (80 lpm/bar½), these sprinklers ensure effective water flow. The response time index (RTI) is 50 for the standard model and 30 for the quick response model, allowing prompt action to minimize fire damage.

Technical Specifications

Both the SD1050 and SD1055 sprinklers have a nominal thread size of ½” NPT (15mm) and an orifice size of 13mm, making them compatible with various installation requirements. They can withstand a maximum working pressure of 175 PSI (1200 kPa). Each unit undergoes rigorous factory hydrostatic testing at 100% with 500 PSI (3450 kPa) to ensure durability and reliability. Notably, the minimum operating pressure is 7 PSI (48 kPa), ensuring effective performance even in low-pressure conditions.

Temperature Classifications

NAFFCO Pakistan offers a variety of temperature classifications for these sprinklers. Options include ordinary (155°F/68°C, red bulb), intermediate (175°F/79°C, yellow bulb), and high-temperature (200°F/93°C, green bulb) models. These classifications meet the needs specified by N.F.P.A standards. The maximum ambient temperatures allowed range from 100°F (38°C) for ordinary classifications to 150°F (65°C) for intermediate classifications, ensuring optimal safety across different environments.
